My PC is working really normal before update. After I update my windows 10 the system show this message.
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable. If the location is on this PC, make sure the device or drive is connected or the disc is inserted, and then try again. If the location is on a network, make sure you're connected to the network or internet, and then try again. If the location still can't be found, it might have been moved or deleted. - OK
Then I click ok after that I only see recycle bin and task bar, which can not do anything background is black, so I restart by using ctrl+alt+delete and run safe mode(safe mode with network).
In safe mode it has no This PC it just has recycle bin and some program and I can't open any file location of any program after that I turn off my pc for 30 sec then open it the result is
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is not accessible
Access is denied. -OK
Only recycle bin and task bar and black background again.

Open Windows File Explorer
On the View Ribbon, check the box marked 'Hidden Items'
C:\users\Default\
Right click and copy the Desktop folder contained in the Default Folder
Navigate to: C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile
Right click and Paste the Desktop folder into the systemprofile folder
Restart (not shut sown) your PC
I have just spent another hour in a frustrating online chat to MS support. They were supposed to call me yesterday, they called but the call was completely garbled and inaudible so they hung up, and emailed to say they would call again today. They haven't. Online chat is a complete waste of time because either they aren't understanding me, or I'm not understanding them but their instructions make no sense. Today's agent told me to make a windows 10 ISO then gave me a link to a windows 7 ISO file and kept insisting it was actually windows 10. Also why the assumption that we all have spare laptops and USB drives floating around? I only wish I could afford a mac.

Yes, you can, and maybe it is best what you can do. I made also clean installation after 3 days of trying to save old system. Firt of all, I made backup of old user folder via Ubuntu boot disk. Then I used media cration USB>F12 boot from USB> New installation>Format system disk>Installing windows>Installing other software and their updates again and then setting. I lost 36 hours of clean time of my life due to Microsoft and probably Avast.
Thanks for your reply. Unfortunately I couldn't get my laptop to boot from the media creation USB, so I finally admmitted defeat and fished out the factory default recovery discs I made when I bought the laptop (in 2012!) and ran those overnight. I now have a functioning windows 7 laptop with none of my apps and settings and all the nasty bundled software that came with it.
Next step will be to upgrade to windows 10, hopefully without keeping existing apps. If anyone has any advice on the safest way to do that, would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
