After update of my windows 10 I got problem Desktop is unavailable

My PC is working really normal before update. After I update my windows 10 the system show this message.

C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable. If the location is on this PC, make sure the device or drive is connected or the disc is inserted, and then try again. If the location is on a network, make sure you're connected to the network or internet, and then try again. If the location still can't be found, it might have been moved or deleted. - OK

Then I click ok after that I only see recycle bin and task bar, which can not do anything background is black, so I restart by using ctrl+alt+delete and run safe mode(safe mode with network). 

In safe mode it has no This PC it just has recycle bin and some program and I can't open any file location of any program after that I turn off my pc for 30 sec then open it the result is 

C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is not accessible 

Access is denied. -OK

Only recycle bin and task bar and black background again.

I have no idea to fix this problem any more. Please I really need some help. THANK YOU. My English is not professional I hope you understand my message.

Hi Thirut,

Open Windows File Explorer

On the View Ribbon, check the box marked 'Hidden Items'

C:\users\Default\

Right click and copy the Desktop folder contained in the Default Folder

Navigate to: C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile

Right click and Paste the Desktop folder into the systemprofile folder

Restart (not shut sown) your PC

    A summary of the thread so far:

    1. The PCs which had a 3rd party Antivirus installed and did an upgrade to the latest stable release called April Update, after finishing the update are stuck in a virtual boot loop, asking either to rollback or select a volume for booting or keyboard layout. If you select A volume for booting, you get a blank desktop with a message saying Desktop is unavailable.
    2. Initially, the cases were very few but after Sunday, it became an epidemic and subsequently caught Microsoft attention and they started looking into this. The only fix discovered was to do a clean install.
    3. There was a solution which is somewhat more technical written by me here https://www.yourwindowsguide.com/2018/05/solution-broken-windows-10-computer-after-april-update.html which asks you to do an Inplace upgrade to get the system back. You must have to uninstall the Antivirus before proceeding to Inplace upgrade.
    4. This morning Microsoft has put a QA on this asking the users to either wait for a fix or do a clean install. You can read here:

    Same problem here 

    Update was done yesterday 23rd May 2018 n then 24th may 2018 blank screen no icons says C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable. If the location is on this PC, make sure the device or drive is connected or the disc is inserted, and then try again. If the location is on a network, make sure you're connected to the network or internet, and then try again. If the location still can't be found, it might have been moved or deleted.

    same problem:  I figured out how to access some of the disk from the black screen (the desktop profile is missing) and only a recycle bin showing.

    use cntrl-alt-delete.  that "may" open a page with the option of "task manager." 

    select that.

    A popup "Task manager" will start.

    select File.

    from the drop down screen, select "run new task."

    from there you can type in a command to run or

    go to the lower right and select "Browse."

    select Browse will let you have an explorer to browse what is left on the hard drive after the carnage from 1803.

    hope this helps.

    for me, I found that 80% of my files are gone.  The folders are there but are empty.

    very very sad. MS really did it this time. ...so much data lost, so many programs lost.. and I made several system restore points before doing the update--which the update erased, along with resetting partitions, making the BIOS unstable--reset the system clock a month ahead--so, rollback got very confused--it was trying to rollback but the clock was saying too many days had gone by--  Whaat A Mess!  --Microsoft what are you going to do?
