My PC is working really normal before update. After I update my windows 10 the system show this message.
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable. If the location is on this PC, make sure the device or drive is connected or the disc is inserted, and then try again. If the location is on a network, make sure you're connected to the network or internet, and then try again. If the location still can't be found, it might have been moved or deleted. - OK
Then I click ok after that I only see recycle bin and task bar, which can not do anything background is black, so I restart by using ctrl+alt+delete and run safe mode(safe mode with network).
In safe mode it has no This PC it just has recycle bin and some program and I can't open any file location of any program after that I turn off my pc for 30 sec then open it the result is
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is not accessible
Access is denied. -OK
Only recycle bin and task bar and black background again.
I have no idea to fix this problem any more. Please I really need some help. THANK YOU. My English is not professional I hope you understand my message.

Open Windows File Explorer
On the View Ribbon, check the box marked 'Hidden Items'
C:\users\Default\
Right click and copy the Desktop folder contained in the Default Folder
Navigate to: C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile
Right click and Paste the Desktop folder into the systemprofile folder
Restart (not shut sown) your PC
My computer just updated on the 20th of May and wiped out all of my files. I went into windows old and the folders are there and now empty. I'm livid my business was on that computer and family photos I can not seem to retrieve. I don't know what to do.
I have had pretty much the same experience after updating Windows 10 but with no access to Safe Mode.
I managed to get to a Command Line prompt and then individually copy all my C: files to a USB stick; as you can imagine this took a great deal of time.
I then restored my computer to the factory installed Windows 8.
This morning a neighbour who is much more IT worldly wise than I has had the same problem.
Why has an upgrade gone wrong again and caused so much pain and additional workload ?

Thank s for the info, but what can we do in the meantime? We just stop working for days...? How long is it going to take to fix this? I have AVG antivirus and I can't even uninstall it as I cannot do anything with my computer!
just reinstall windows 10...
here is a solution to make a backup just take the install disk from windows 10 take usb of 32gb install windows 10 in it start windows 10 with usb dont pick to start windows from hdd in boot option pick to start trough usb.
after u done make backup from all your important files with the external harddrive if u dont have any then there is another way but not confirmed that it works thats by using your install disk in demo mode
this is a solution to get your files in a safe place before installing a clean install of windows 10 and to latest update.
i have done this like 17 times by now hehe
