My PC is working really normal before update. After I update my windows 10 the system show this message.
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is unavailable. If the location is on this PC, make sure the device or drive is connected or the disc is inserted, and then try again. If the location is on a network, make sure you're connected to the network or internet, and then try again. If the location still can't be found, it might have been moved or deleted. - OK
Then I click ok after that I only see recycle bin and task bar, which can not do anything background is black, so I restart by using ctrl+alt+delete and run safe mode(safe mode with network).
In safe mode it has no This PC it just has recycle bin and some program and I can't open any file location of any program after that I turn off my pc for 30 sec then open it the result is
C:\WINDOWS\system32\config\systemprofile\Desktop is not accessible
Access is denied. -OK
Only recycle bin and task bar and black background again.
I have no idea to fix this problem any more. Please I really need some help. THANK YOU. My English is not professional I hope you understand my message.

Open Windows File Explorer
On the View Ribbon, check the box marked 'Hidden Items'
C:\users\Default\
Right click and copy the Desktop folder contained in the Default Folder
Navigate to: C:\Windows\system32\config\systemprofile
Right click and Paste the Desktop folder into the systemprofile folder
Restart (not shut sown) your PC
I have the same problem - very annoying and disappointing - my pc is pretty standard and I don’t reallly want to go through all the recovery process when the OS seems fine but it is just my desktop and any ability to start a program that is missing. I can run a command mode but not sure how I do that with admin rights - but surely there could be a defined method of fixing what now seems to be a common problem and perhaps the update could be pulled until such time as its fixed.

Alt Control Delete, look to the bottom right, and select 'restart' while holding down the 'shift' key which restarts the PC and launches the Advanced Startup Options when it reboots.
Then I chose the "Reset this PC" option and selected the "Keep my files" option.

i let windows do its latest updates and now I have exactly the same problem as mentioned.
Please someone give us some good advice. My pc is now a paper weight. Thanks microsoft-you screwed us again.
