File Explorer may not detect other devices or perform file sharing on the local network when running Windows 10 version 1803

As for your problem with having 3 machines on your network, I actually only have 2 machines on my local network, and they're both running the latest April update to Windows 10 Pro (which means, incidentally, that I had to go through this "fix" on both of them before they could see each other consistently). I have no idea whether mixing Pro and Home changes anything, but here's what I saw related to the Computer Browser:

Interestingly, on one of my machines, I didn't even see the "Computer Browser" in the services window, so (obviously?) I ignored it (and it clearly didn't hurt), but on the other machine, I did see the "Computer Browser," and when I tried to change its startup status to "Automatic (Delayed Start)" I got that error 87 like you did and then it disappeared from the services window! But all the other services in that list (to make delayed start) were present on both machines and none of them threw any errors. And as previously described, everything else went pretty much as hoped (with above amendments). So if any of my other three suggestions help, maybe you shouldn't worry about the Browser thing either.

It should probably go without saying that before the 1803 update my computers on the network were completely successful in seeing each other (and themselves! - that's a really aggravating issue). So perhaps it should also go without saying that if you didn't previously have connections between machines on your network, you might have to do some other things as well, like set the formal Permissions on the computers so they'll share the desired drives/folders with each other.

Went through all of the recommended changes and still no improvement.  I have my test network with 3  x W10  computers. One computer is always missing in the list of available network devices.  There is a variety of ways to access the networked computers which is by clicking on the icon in explorer, or via the \computer name, or by the \ip address.  There is no consistency even between computers as they all access other computers differently.  Now I have one computer that cannot connect to the main computer using icon or \ name. Using the \ip gives me a critical error that I don't have permission. The other computer connects to the main computer by \ip address quite happily. Go figure.

I have wasted days on this issue trying to find a solution and finally came upon  this thread which is the most up to date as it seems it is an update 1803 issue.  This whole process is driving me nuts.  I want to use dhcp with my router so I can have internet on all units without having to manually configure each device and would like to navigate using host names like the good o'l days.  Now i have to look up ipconfig addresses

After installing the Windows 10 April 2018 Update (Windows 10 version 1803), File Explorer cannot connect to other devices running version 1803.  When clicking the Network tab in File Explorer, other devices on the home network running version 1803 do not appear, and thus I’m not able to perform file sharing or access files on other devices on my home network.
