problem on 2018-04 cumulative update (KB4093112)

Dear Sir,

my windows 10 64-bit version 1709 updating this KB4093112 updates in a loop, that is initializing, downloading (no download stream since the 2nd loop), installing (counting from 0% to 100%), after that, the installation restarting as a loop, what is wrong with that?

I tried restart my PC but nothing help

This workload keeps my CPU working in 60% and above, HDD working in 40% above somethings (max 100% before restart), RAM usage 45%.

Can anyone help on this?

hardware configuration:

Intel CPU i5-3450S 2.8GHz

RAM: 8GB

HDD: 1TB drive C; 2TB drive D with bitlocker locked

Display card: AMD Radeon R9 380

I was getting an error code: 0x80070bc2 when trying to install KB4093112. Following this step help resolved my problem just minutes ago:

  • Right-click on Windows key and select Command Prompt (Admin).
  • Type the following commands in Command Prompt window. To execute them, press Enter after each one. 

SC config wuauserv start= auto

SC config bits start= auto

SC config cryptsvc start= auto

SC config trustedinstaller start= auto

  • Finally, restart your PC and try to install the update that was previously returning the 0x80070bc2 error.

Did you choose the right processor and the cumulative download?  It worked for me, Error 0x8024200d was gone after a reboot.

    Has anyone found a fix that works on Error 0x8024200d for the win 10 update-kb4093112? Considering the number of people getting this error, is Microsoft working on a patch? Or are we on our own? Please keep us in the loop Microsoft techs.

    I've got the same issue and the numbers of retry is now 83.

    i tried all suggestions under this topic, it all NOT working for me.

    i wish MS is working on it.

    Thanks for verifying that information. I do see that you also have done all the troubleshooting steps provided by the community members and still you are experiencing the same error. It's possible that your current user profile is corrupted causing conflicts in installing the Windows update properly.

    In that case, I suggest that you create a new administrator account first. Sign in to your new profile then perform a clean boot. Follow the steps carefully stated in this article to perform clean boot: How to perform a clean boot in Windows.

    Once you have performed a clean boot, check for Windows update by clicking on Start > Settings > Update & security > Windows Update, and select Check for updates. If it does not push through, run the Windows update troubleshooter.

    Update us with the results as soon as possible.

    i used 1 hour to perform what you suggested and try to wait for the loops of installation to complete in the new admin account under clean boot, it still runs in a loop.

    yes I believe the DCom errors are a red herring after further investigation.  

    Interesting thing is that when restarting the machine, I get 

    processing stage XX of XX where XX is a slowly decreasing number. 

    When the machine restarts it comes back with stage 2 of (XX-1) (installing Windows features) and restarts. 

    I wish there was an easy way of forcing it to install all the items in the update when it shuts down so that it gets further than stage 2
