PNP DRIVER WATCHDOG

I have been trying to install the April2018 Update but I get a blue screen with the Stop Code PNP DRIVER WATCHDOG. Is there a workaround?

The setupmem.dmp references the volsnap.sys (Volume Shadow Copy driver) but not a third party driver :

BugCheck 1D5, {6900630070, ffff9f06c6092ab0, ffffd209730df040, 2bf32}

Implicit thread is now ffffd209`730df040

Probably caused by : volsnap.sys ( volsnap!VspSynchronousIo+14b )

The error may indicate an issue with a file system driver possibly third party.

Can you check if the following folders exist (to see the folders you may have to "show hidden files and folders"):

C:$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Panther

C:$WINDOWS.~BT\Sources\Rollback

If those folders exist can you zip them up and provide via OneDrive.

I would go with the WHQL.zip as the motherboard appears to have a "JMicron® JMB363 PATA and SATA controller".

    This does seem to have a Ralink chipset, but the driver chosen by Windows 10 doesn't work. Anyway, it's fixed now.

    I guess this problem will be with me as long as I continue to use the thing.

    The F5D7050B, depending on the version, may have a Ralink chipset thus being detected as a Ralink - v2 and v3 appear to have Ralink chipset:

    That diagnosis is correct.

    I reran the update with the USB wireless adapter disconnected and it ran OK.

    I have encountered a problem with this adapter ever since I first installed Windows 10.

    It is a Belkin Wireless G USB Network Adapter, model F5D7050B which requires driver file netr73.sys.

    It is always wrongly recognised by Windows 10 which, in this case loaded a driver for a Ralink adapter dated 9/10/2007.

    I have posted the workaround elsewhere, which is to rename netr73.sys with the name netr70.sys, and overwrite the 2007 driver in the Windows driver folder.

    Windows 10 then uses this driver file, and everything is hunky dory. Everytime there is a "feature update" to windows, I have to retrieve the working driver from the windows.old folder and put it in the driver folder for the active Windows.

    But this is the first time it caused the update to crash!
