I am unable to install The Windows 10 Feature update to OS version 1803(from version 1709) on my PC.

It is giving 0xc1900101 error. I have all the latest drivers on my PC. The current OS build of my PC is 16299.371.

After each failure, the update gets downloaded again and it has failed 5 times.

I would be grateful if someone could please help.

It's shocking how so many people are experiencing these recent Windows update issues. I am one of them and feel utterly abandoned by Microsoft when trying to seek help. It's also a poor response to expect people to run through detailed steps, including in some cases editing the system Registry in a vane attempt to resolve these issues. Microsoft please step up and resolve these issues once and for all, you have a responsibility to do so!

i have also same problem upgrading to 1803 when it got install i faced brightness problem so i roll back my pc to1709

Absolutely. I don't know how long MS is going to acknowledge this issue and fix it. Disappointing.

well you can try this method

There will be no difference between Automatic update or manual update. For brightness issue, try following (in case you update it again and face the issue)

1. Use the Hardware & Devices Troubleshooter

Type Troubleshoot in Windows Start Search box > Click Troubleshoot > Scroll down & Click Hardware & Devices > Click Run the Troubleshooter & follow on-screen directions > Restart the computer after troubleshooting is completed

2. This will not correct the problem but will provide relief - Right click on battery icon in Task bar > Power options > Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings > Expand Display > Check the values under Display brightness, Dimmed display brightness
and Enable adaptive brightness

3. Take actions related to Display Driver

Windows Key+X > Click Device Manager > Expand Display Adapter > Right click on entry below >

A. Rollback the Driver

Click Properties > Go to Driver tab > If there is rollback option, click it

B. Uninstall the Driver

Uninstall > Reboot the computer > The driver will be installed automatically when you restart

C. Update the driver

Click Update Driver Software > Click Browse my computer for driver software > Click Let my pick from a list of device drivers on my computer > Choose the driver > Click Next to update > If this does not work, select Search automatically for the updated driver
in place of Browse my computer for driver software > Restart your computer

D. Update driver from manufacturer's website

Go to the website of the display adapter's manufacturer or computer's manufacturer > See if some driver is released for your model and OS > If yes, download that > In previous option, you click Update Driver Software, in place of this, click Uninstall > Install
the downloaded driver > Restart your computer
