I see that this forum item has morphed from 1803 to 1809. It took me many months to get 1803 installed and I now have metered connection to keep the next malicious upgrade out. Why should I want to install 1809?
Failure to install Windows 10 April Update(version 1803)
I am unable to install The Windows 10 Feature update to OS version 1803(from version 1709) on my PC.
It is giving 0xc1900101 error. I have all the latest drivers on my PC. The current OS build of my PC is 16299.371.
After each failure, the update gets downloaded again and it has failed 5 times.
I would be grateful if someone could please help.

2018-10-07T09:47:58+00:00 Update to my last post. I raised the question about 1809 on a new thread and was told that Microsoft have withdrawn 1809. I don't see a reference number on that thread to refer to.

2018-10-08T12:35:18+00:00 They should have fixed it before its release and none of this would have happened. Furthermore, this is not the first time they have screwed us with bad updates. Whatever it did to my machine, I can't even do a clean install now. just have to limp along with the machine until something is done about it, or take the hard drive out and do a format and install from another machine. Thanks, Microsoft.

If you have been using Microsoft operating systems as long as I have, you would know they have never been working like they should, never ever. and never will. I like Windows but in a stable state. Everytime they finally get it fixed, they come along and make an "improvement", that sets the system back a couple of years.
