I am unable to install The Windows 10 Feature update to OS version 1803(from version 1709) on my PC.

It is giving 0xc1900101 error. I have all the latest drivers on my PC. The current OS build of my PC is 16299.371.

After each failure, the update gets downloaded again and it has failed 5 times.

I would be grateful if someone could please help.

    Agree!

Had one of my machines try to update itself automatically even though I thought I had disabled updated for 30 days, but maybe it's already been 30 days!

I set my wifi to metered connection. Now Windows has to ask before upgrading. I am a long way into finding why my paricular machine  is failing but that's on another thread. Currenly I am avoiding 1803, as are many people I know.

I have had the update fail so many times I have lost count. MIcrosoft you say an update is on the way. Until you finally get the problem sorted stop requesting the update is made. All you are doing is annoying your users.

I had an urgent email to send and needed a file on this machine. Just sat looking at the welcome screen with no logon allowed. After 30 minutes Windows 10 dained to let me in. Guess what!  It had been going through another failed 1803 update.

I had hoped that by setting the PC to metered connection it might leave me alone. Not a hope!

Worry is that there is now a windows defender antivirus update in the queue waiting for 1803 to install.  Back to good old AVG for that maybe.

I rarely use this PC now but it has a lot of files I need to get off it.

Next: I think I saw an article which showed how to change a setting in the registry to stop updates.

Anyone know which one. I'll hunt it out anyway.

    For the record.

Feature update to Windows 10, version 1803

    Todays effort is still trying?
