I am unable to install The Windows 10 Feature update to OS version 1803(from version 1709) on my PC.

It is giving 0xc1900101 error. I have all the latest drivers on my PC. The current OS build of my PC is 16299.371.

After each failure, the update gets downloaded again and it has failed 5 times.

I would be grateful if someone could please help.

I don't think we really need the update. Windows was working just fine for me the way it was. Every 6 months we must suffer this. But in the case that Microsoft feels they must release updates, at least release them when they are fully functional.

None of those things that you suggested will fix the update at this time. Microsoft needs to fix the problem over there before they rush to release a car with no motor in it.

troubleshooting the issue at this time may cause more harm than good.

How could diagnosing the symptom cause more harm?  IMO what is needed is clarity about the symptom.

I have the same problem. After five hours the upgrade bombed with a black screen. I waited for two more hours manually rebooted and ended up back where I started. I had the same problem with the previous "creator's" upgrade. It took me more than six months before it finally installed without incident. Not one of your solutions worked. Frankly most of them were like going around my elbow to scratch my ass.   I am not going through the same death march with this one. Microsoft, fix the damn problem and stop coercing me. I will treat this as a virus and will try every effort to block it, unless you can guarantee it will "install" in a reasonable time. Don't send me to support the last time they really screwed up my system. I am not dragging my computer to your storefront. The only reason the prior creator's update succeeded is that it just did one day, without any explanation on your part.

Right now. Our team is aware of this issue and our engineering team is working full time to have this resolved and sorted out, rest assured that your device will receive the update patch once our engineers have rolled it out as soon as possible, for now I would highly suggest that we wait for the said update because troubleshooting the issue at this time may cause more harm than good.

ah this is good to now, so bad file upgrade is the problem?

    Me

why not go back to windows that did work?

    Agent

ah this is good to now, so bad file upgrade is the problem? -Unfortunately yes. That is why it comes from our engineers to wait for the upgrade to finally fix the issue.

Also, you can help us to hasten the update by posting a feedback in the feedback hub.

    Me

okay give me link to that?

Actually it is an app from Microsoft: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/feedback-hub/9nblggh4r32n#activetab=pivot:overviewtab

    Agent

Good luck. I am a tech and have several machines sitting here now that no longer function after an attempted update. Microsoft is a big headache. And the sad thing is that I can't seem to fix um anymore. Nor can I get some of the machines to do a clean install, It just shows that stupid Microsoft icon, nothing more happens.  This is out of hand. They are supposed to be making things better but it is apparent they are not. Too bad I can't convince more people to switch to Linux.
