Failure to install Windows 10 April Update(version 1803)

First disable any power saving on the computer using Settings - Power.  That should prevent the stall, which may be due to the computer shutting down rather than finishing the download and install process.  Then try one more time.  If it does not work, go to https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/4027322/windows-update-troubleshooter.  download and run the troubleshooter and try again.

Please do not write bullshits like that in this topics. This troubleshooter is a very old one and was thousends times failed to help - similarly like the other tips written here.

Just the moment I am "standing in queue" for the 3rd level Microsoft support with this problem

I am personally waiting for a general solution from the side of Microsoft technicians:  new "feature UpDate" ????

None of these options work for me.

It's getting seriously frustrating. My computer is CONSTANTLY trying to automatically download the update 1803 and failing to install it, every time it happens I have to restart my computer and wait for it to fail to install (gets as far as about 54% and then decides to undo the update).

There HAS to be a way around this.

This strategy based on Vijay Verma's post and also setting my computer so it wouldn't snooze in the middle of the download or installation worked.

I have to say that I am beyond pissed with this. There is no doubt that this was not ready for prime time. You should NEVER have to go through the steps as listed to update an OS. So far I have bricked 2 computers because what happens when this update fails it goes through the Window's Automatic Repair which eventually tells you that it can't repair the system and to shut it off or advance troubleshooting. Follow those steps and you can't self reinstall the OS. Unreal. So to date I have over 500 dollars into this as I lost the OS, Office and data. The OS and Office were single use. 6 hours into the third reinstall I hit the same snag and finally check here to see it isn't the system. It is Microsoft. So now I have to use my own DVD or make a USB compatable to down load this turd and hope it installs?
