I had this problem all the time with all of my Bluetooth devices (Bose Mini speaker, Sony headset, ...).
My Wi-fi connection on my laptop was also having issues when Bluetooth was activated, so I changed the configuration of my wireless access-point that provides the Wi-fi 2,4 Ghz signal:
Previous settings:
- Channel: automatic
- 20+40 Mhz co-existence
NEW settings:
- Channel: 6 (use a Wi-fi analyzer to check what channel you use best)
- 20Mhz only !!
The problem was that Wi-fi 20+40Mhz co-existense uses a larger frequency range, and together with the automatic channel selection it kept a back-up channel in reserve, just in case the current channel is overloaded (for example Channel 6 + 1). This was causing
too much interference with the Bluetooth frequency range, which is also between 2,4 and 2,48 Ghz.
Now, when Bluetooth is activated, the Wi-fi speed goes down a little bit (about 20%), but I think you can't avoid this. A speedtest is now showing fast Wi-fi as it should be, and I don't have the Bluetooth stuttering anymore. Only my Bose speaker will sometimes
stutter for a few seconds, but that's probably because it has old Bluetooth version installed.
