i can only scan once before My scan software locks and i then have to cycle the scanner off/on and restart my scan software for the next scan.   This problem affects all my Epson devices that scan.  I tried reinstalling manufacturers software.

Very Simple Fix for the very common problem. Just go through the following steps -

    1. Right Click Epson icon
    2. Select "Properties"
    3. Select "Compatibility"
    4. Click "Change Settings for All Users"
    5. Tick the - "Run this program as Administrator"
    6. Click "Apply"
    7. Exit.
    8. Run the Epson Scanner
    9. Accept / Yes for the Make changes in Windows
    10. The Scanner will run properly.
    11. When Exiting the Scanner it will Ask - "Did the Program work Satisfactorily?"
    12. Click for "Yes It worked"

I had the same problem with Win 10 v. 1803 (build 17134.345) and an Epson V370 Photo scanner installed 2018/9/3 using the included CD:  it would make only one scan then would RQR restart to make one more.  Tried authorizing "run as administrator" at:

             >the homepage shortcut,

             >the taskbar shortcut,

             >the Win 10 START program list shortcut "Epson Scan", and

             >that shortcut's file location (under the Shortcut tab/Advanced button), which didn't have the entry even though it had previously been entered via that shortcut "Epson Scan"

That might be overkill, but it has worked so far.

    Hi!

Had the same issue. None of the solutions to fix Epson Scan worked for me, but I installed an opensource alternative and it works great (NAPS2) - so it's probably not a scan driver issue, but an issue with Epson Scan itself.

Epson have posted a patch for this at https://www.epson.co.uk/viewcon/corporatesite/products/mainunits/faq/8654/2784

Thank you Claire! This patch isn't included in the Epson Auto-Updater software yet, at least for my model (WF-3520). Also, even though it's the UK site, it worked for my US model. FYI, it also does not give any confirmation dialog when the patch is complete.

I can confirm your observations, and that the patch has solved the problem for me with the Epson Stylus SX235W being controlled from Win10 Pro v1803 b17134.345.
