My gripe with this "Feature" is that I do not want a pin.  I know how to edit my account and remove the pin and I do this.. weekly or so.  The problem is that anyone can walk up to my keyboard and start typing my password incorrectly and prompt for my account to setup a pin the next time I login. Once they click that button, the next time I'm logging in I have to create a pin, there is no way around it. I then create my pin, go into my settings, and remove it.  You would think there would be a registry key that you could edit..

It's like Microsoft is actively working with "law enforcement" to circumvent your security.

The fact that you have to edit a group policy to change this is simple trash design by Microsoft.  This is what market dominance looks like.  Trash.

The real problem is that Microsoft gets an idea (like a PIN) and they’re so proud of themselves for having a new feature that they ramrod it down your throat. They never. ask - they just turn this **** on and then good luck finding all of the places to turn it off. Netplwiz has NOTHING to do with PINs. GPEDIT is another place to look or how about the Registry too?  Powershell? Yes look there. Settings - Better check that...
