Stop asking me to create a PIN!

please o please tell me how i can stop Windows 10 from asking me to create a PIN to login with.....I DO NOT WANT TO CREATE ONE! no matter what I do it forces me to create one. 

I understand it might be more secure etc etc but I DO NOT WANT TO CREATE ONE!

I am more than happy to enter in my normal password to access my profile I DO NOT WANT A PIN

Please assist me in stopping this annoyance. Its my computer and I will have it work the way I want it to.

    Doing both of these together made mine stop prompting on Windows Pro, most recent update as of July 15th 2018:

    • Click Start and search "Edit group policy"
    • Go to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Logon
    • Double click on "Turn on convenience PIN sign-in" and select "Disable", then "Ok
    • Make sure on your sign-in page (on startup) that the icon for password (under the password box) is selected.

    Personal Note: Whatever backwoods software dev thought that forcing this on and making a user use Group Policy, an advanced Windows settings area, to turn it off needs to be reigned in.  Like many Microsoft things, the idea is cool, but the execution is terrible.  

    Of course that won't work on Windows Home -- only Professional.

    Good idea, but may become problematic for some when they change their password.

    Unsure if it is a recent Windows build change, but this did not disable it for me. I've confirmed the setting after reboot and canceling out of the pin-create screens. 

    Boo Microsoft... This is PITA.

    The problem has "magically" gone away without me doing anything.  I guess that MS figured out their error and corrected it.
