This problem happens with all windows when maximized.

When the window is maximized there is a bar at the top of the screen through which i can see my desktop. Its like that range that the window can maximize has been shortened.

Here is the link from reddit and this is the exact issue i am having.

We did install all the latest and greatest patch that are available of today and nothing seems to work.

Any help please

In that Reddit thread, there is a suggestion that worked for me.

Right click desktop, go to Intel HD Graphics settings. Select Display and then choose the option Scale Full Screen. Make sure the option Override Application Settings has the checkbox marked.

Same annoying issue here on Windows 10 x64 1803 with all updates until now!

The issue appears on several apps (chrome, IE, eagle, ...) so it does'nt depends on the app.

My setup is: 2x HDMI/DVI 24" Monitors on an Radeon HD 5450. Internal Intel GPU is not used.

The issue just happend recently sind a few weeks.

I have found an workaround which helps at least for me:

 * Open Task Manager

 * Goto Tab Details

 * select dwm.exe and click "Kill Proccess"

dwm.exe will be closed and restarted automatically from windows and issue is gone.

Yeah i'll know, its a rather annoying workaround but the quickest for me until a real solution pops up.

    Has anyone tried to replace the DWM.exe file with a known working one from another PC with a similar setup?

    Have had several users with this issue on Windows 10 1903. HP laptops (EliteBook x360 830 G6) , USB-C Docks, and two monitors with the laptop lid closed. All applications we affected however it seems to occur more when PDFs were opened on network drives or when using any Office applications (365).

    I was able to mitigate the issue by uninstalling every trace of the manufacturers display drivers, install the most up-to-date drivers from Intel, and changing the display settings in Intel HD Graphics Settings / Command Center to "Scale Full Screen" or "Stretched".

    It has been a couple weeks now with no further reported issues from the users but we will see.

    This was the fix for my users - Scale Full Screen and Override Application Settings ticked

    I had the same problem.

    My fix:

    If you have an nVidia graphic card.

    1. Right click on desktop > Nvidia CPanel
    2. Go to Display > Adjust desktop size and position
    3. On "Perform scaling on" select GPU and check the "Override the scaling...." option.

    Hope it helpt. It helped me!
