Hi Everyone
I want everyone to know I've been tracking this issue pretty intensely as I've experienced it across multiple clients.
I've logged several jobs with Dell and they've spoke to MS reps this isn't going to get anywhere the solution is with us
So lets set the stage/requirements for fault to occur.
Dual monitor setup
Can be Laptop , Desktop , Tablet doesn't matter.
Appears in Windows 10 Build 1803-1903
Majority of our cases are Intel GPU, but this isn't limited here
When Fault triggers the issue appears in the following applications or a combination of the following (This is not a full list, just what I've tested no MS Office Products appears to be effected):
IE
Chrome
Firefox
Control Panel/Explorer
Adobe Acrobat Reader.
Moving forward these are the things I tried with intermittent success.
Win + L-Ctrl + L-Shift + B works as a temp fix. Not a permanent solution but saves a reboot.
Intel Scaling fix. This had random success and saved a few from the final fix.
Unplugging and re-plugging monitor, again works as a temp fix. Not a permanent solution but saves a reboot.
Sometimes F11 to Fullscreen , works as a temp fix. Not a permanent solution but saves a reboot.
Moving onto permanent solution which yall don't want to hear.I'm sorry it has to be this way but MS aren't fixing it so we have too
Rebuild with the Win 10 ISO creator. Do not use factory images, in the case of Dell products we found there is something in there causing the issue. It's Random and worse for some people more than others.
Do use your manufacturer for drivers.
Good luck everyone , I wish you all the best in hunting the black bar.
