Local Disk E

I updated to the Creators Spring 1803 update yesterday.  Everything seems to be fine although I have not done much since updating.  However I notice in windows explorer under Local disk C another entry for Local disk E?  It is for 449mb in size with 42.9mb free space left.  It opens to show nothing saying the folder is empty.  What is it ?  Anything to do with the update or can I just delete it?

Yes, it is 3 in your case. It can vary to a system by system.

Correct squence:

diskpart

list volume

select volume 3

remove letter="E"

This is one of the known issues I am seeing with the update as Recovery partition should be hidden and is accidentally assigned a drive letter.

Right-click Start>Command Prompt(admin)

Type in the following:

diskpart

list volume

select volume 3

Replace 3 with the number of the volume which is assigned a drive letter. (In hundreds of MBs)

remove letter="G"

Replace G with the Recovery drive letter.

Don't worry, removing a drive letter would not cause any harm to your device.

    I found that if I just deleted the E Driver, pretty someone's suggestion above, it took care of it. Must have been an update glitch

    I wouldn't format your E volume - I think it is your Recovery Environment to which Shift+Restart will boot (at the Choose an Option screen). But now I see it appears to hold your Pagefile too.

    (1) How did that get there? You've got tons of space on C: for that.

    Remove it this way...

    (a) Right-click START, & select "System".

    (b) Click "System info" at the top right.

         Control Panel opens at its System page.

    (c) Click "Advanced system settings" at top left.

         System Properties will open at its Advanced tab.

    (d) Click the Settings button under Performance.

         Performance Option opens.

    (e) At the Performance Option's Advanced tab, click the Change button.

         The Virtual Memory requestor will open.

    (f) Uncheck "Automatically manage" in the Virtual Memory requestor, if necessary. Then the possible drives will appear in the drive selection box. I think you will see the Pagefile is set on the E volume. Switch it back to C:. Then, put a check back into "Automatically manage".

    (2) After that, you should be able to remove the letter E using DiskPart. But first I'd like to see the result of DIR E:\ /a /sat a Command Prompt (Admin) - not PowerShell**...**

    Is your WinRE.wim in there? Try Shift+Restart - do you get there?

    quick question I went to file explorer and I have 2 "E". Fraglist.luar and fragilist.txt.  Do I do both?

    When you go to File Explorer you will have a meny on the lefthand site of the page.

    There you will find:

    Local Disk (C)

    Local Disk (D)

    Local  Disk (E)

    Right click onto Loca Disk (E)

    Now you can choose to format the E-Disk by left clicking format.

    Do that and click on Start

    In my version of the file explorer i cannat find   2 "E". Fraglist.luar and fragilist.txt.
