This is a serious problem in Windows 10 Mobile. I can't seem to find any help on this. And I know of one other person who has this same problem, ShannonMRhoads, and that person also posted the same issue in another thread titled ""Microsoft
Edge "This page is having a problem". "", but the reply was similar: try other apps. But that is not acceptable, as in the Windows 10 Mobile phone platform we are being forced [as in a monopoly we might recall when we were forced to use Internet Explorer
over Netscape way back when Windows was 3.1 or 95] to use Microsoft Edge as the pdf reader. Sure we can install other pdf readers but we have to open them and then select "Open" and then browse to find it in the documents folders only for Adobe Reader, or
on their cloud. Here follows my detailed explanation [and a little bit of a rant, excuse me]:
(1) My Microsoft Edge is the default PDF reader universally on my Windows 10 Mobile phone (on my HP Elite X3, AND on my Lumia 950XL).
(1.1) There's no way, that I know of, to select an alternative pdf reader, to either make it the default, or to view the file just this one time with that alternative pdf reader, so I am stuck with ONE reader, Microsoft Edge, talking about a monopoly, that
would be like only allowing HTML files and the like to be opened with Edge and not allowing the user the option to set Google Chrome, or whatever, as the default.
(1.2) not even holding down finger on a pdf to bring up options, is there a way to open with . . . [select reader] as there is on the Windows 10 desktop operating system. If you are going to call it Windows 10 Mobile, at least make basic functions like
that available.
(2) So as stated above in point 1.1, I am stuck with Microsoft Edge as the default PDF reader, it would be manageably acceptable, as I can always open an alternative PDF reader such as Adobe's or OneReader or Foxit, if I need to and can put up with browsing
within the alternative PDF reader to find the document. But if I want to open a PDF file that I come across through browsing or as an email attachment, I can't open it at all. This [adjective] Microsoft Edge won't even work anymore to open and read PDF files
that I tap on to read, not even when tapping on from an email attachment. It tries to but then it ends up with:
_____________ERROR MESSAGE PAGE IN MS EDGE ______________________________
This page is having a problem loading
We tried to load this page for you a few times, but there is still a problem with this site. We know you have better things to do than to watch this page reload over and over again so try coming back to this page later.
Try this

_____________END OF ERROR MESSAGE PAGE IN MS EDGE_______________________
That's the error page I get every time I try to view a PDF file.
I have to open a PDF reader and browse to the PDF file, if that PDF reader allows complete browsing of my system, as some don't, such as Adobe reader which only allows browsing to the Documents folders and to their cloud.
