BSOD on OneNote 2016 after Upgrade to Windows 10 Fall Creators Update 1709

I have this problem (BSOD in win32kbase.sys) on different computers (dell optiplex 760 & 780, optiplex 7020, hp elitedesk 800 g2, home built on MSI mainboard with core i7 3rd generation, (some with NVIDIA NVS, some integrated graphics, different software), a Surface Book (!) from 2016 ) after upgrading to Windows 10 1709 on OneNote 2016 (coming with the Office 2016 package), but only for this combination of OneNote and Windows.

We use CurrentBranch for Business Enterprise and regular Professional version.

Common is to all the cases that a more complex OneNote slide crashes faster (within seconds):

we have tables (6x20) filled with screen-captured images (~1500pixels x 1000pixels) + some text, when zooming (control + mouswheel) in these files, BSOD occurs immediately.

No special additional hardware, update level on 2017-11-15 (just received KB4048951 and others, problem persits).

On request, I could share the OneNote file.

The exactly same OneNote file makes no problems on Win 10 1703/Win7/Win 8.1, or on a Win 10 1709 running OneNote from Office 2010/2013 packages.

    I to have been looking into a work-around for this BSOD-error. Looking at the event viewer, I alway get this combination of log entries upon BSOD... After reviewing many posts related to the EnhancedStorage-EhStorTgcDrv error...

    I have removed all setting involving Sleep or Hibernate and I have notgotten any BSOD's and no log entries with the EnhancedStorage-EhStorTCGDvr error since.  I am able to reliable cause my system to fail however with Sleep and Hibernate setting off (i.e., set to never sleep / never hibernate) my system is now stable. When I close the laptop my system is set to shutdown.  This is only a workaround ...hope it gets fixed ASAP.

    Microsoft, Please fix this. Stop wasting people's time when you know that this has to be fixed on a driver/programming level. It is happening on multiple chipset's so my guess would be that OneNote is the Culprit. I have spent about 5 hours testing settings and different configs with no luck.

    The only thing that seems to help prevent it is turning off hardware acceleration in OneNote's setting. It still crashes just not as much.

    is it Office 32-bit or 64-bit? For me it only happens on 32-bit

    That might be my issue. Nearly all my pages are students work which is done in PowerPoint and dragged in. Sometimes 5 slides or so per onenote page  Can't really do without PowerPoint for ease of use, so I'll try your method or breaking it down intopre pages.

    Come on Microsoft. I want to buy me a surface pro, but I won't until this is sorted.

    Yes, extensively.

    Printing to onenote or importing things to onenote works with no issues. It's only when things are copy pasted where it becomes a problem, and if you have large notebooks where most of the data was added this way.... it all has to be recreated, which is why I'm waiting for Microsoft to fix the issue.
