After installation of KB4056892 boot failure, after roll-back error 0x800f0845

Hi,

I have older AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+, Asus MB, after installation of KB4056892 the system doesn't boot, it only shows the Windows logo without animation and nothing more. After several failed boots it do roll-back then it shows error 0x800f0845. Unfortunately, it seems it's not easy to disable the automatic updates without gpedit tweaks, so it tries installing and rolling-back the update over and over. The sfc /scannow shows no problem, in-place upgrade also doesn't seem to help. I can try full reinstall, but I doubt it will change anything. It seems like the update is binary incompatible with my old CPU. I understand that making the machine unbootable is the best protection from remote exploitation, but I would rather have the OS working. Especially if my CPU is not vulnerable to the Meltdown attack and the MS mitigation attempts for Spectre is more than questionable. I could find only some German and Italian people reporting the same issue (well the CPU is quite pre-historic and the KB update is very fresh), but no info / acknowledgment from the MS so far. I have Czech localization. Could anybody provide more information?

    I have one of those that was locked up and yes it is exactly what the person I replied to said.  Sorry if that offends MS but it is true as to what they have done. My system was only restored due to my knowledge of the fact that MS previously disabled system restore. All the auto repair and roll back features failed to function and yes I can complain as it did happen to me.  The fact is that I had Windows 7 pro and was downgraded to home 10 without many features but as a price to moving on to Windows 10.  I never posted a complaint until they attempted to brick my system.  They removed many features on that HO system and locked out hardware that I also changed to keep it up and running. Legit complaint and not arguing. Just the facts of what happened and a response to someone saying our system had to be updated and locked up in order to prevent it from being accessed and burnt uo.

    You are a genius and a saint. Your solution fixed my computer. I used KB4073290 on an AMD Athlon X2 64-bit msi AIO with Windows 10 version 10.0.16299 installed.

    Microsoft, if you are listening, you suck. But, instead of ranting, I am just going to say I dream of the day when nobody has to use your crappy software.

    At last got this update installed and believe or not but the computer is much usable with the new build. The meltdown patch doesn't seem to slow it down but actually resolves some hiccups I had with it before. The disk IO response time is much better.

    Maybe this is ultimate fix for lot of computers new and old which feeled slow(SSD or not) even if benchmarks doesn't show any bottlenecks.

    edit: After KB4058258 update can't search for new updates got error 0x800705b4. Disabling windows defender for moment fixed this issue.

    Meltdown vulnerability is not on AMD chips.

    The Meltdown/Spectre update on Intel chips was almost as bad as this with Microsoft having to issue an update to undo the Intel microcode update. The Intel microcode update was causing unexpected reboots with possible data loss.

    After manually installing KB4073290 now also got latest kb4058258 as an automatic update. Again a boot failure(stuck at windows logo with frozen progress circle) but this time finished update after forced restart. Now it shows error 0x80240034 that kb4058258 failed but at the same time shows as success. Strange that got the boot failure again.
