I have older AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+, Asus MB, after installation of KB4056892 the system doesn't boot, it only shows the Windows logo without animation and nothing more. After several failed boots it do roll-back then it shows error 0x800f0845. Unfortunately, it seems it's not easy to disable the automatic updates without gpedit tweaks, so it tries installing and rolling-back the update over and over. The sfc /scannow shows no problem, in-place upgrade also doesn't seem to help. I can try full reinstall, but I doubt it will change anything. It seems like the update is binary incompatible with my old CPU. I understand that making the machine unbootable is the best protection from remote exploitation, but I would rather have the OS working. Especially if my CPU is not vulnerable to the Meltdown attack and the MS mitigation attempts for Spectre is more than questionable. I could find only some German and Italian people reporting the same issue (well the CPU is quite pre-historic and the KB update is very fresh), but no info / acknowledgment from the MS so far. I have Czech localization. Could anybody provide more information?

It seems things are sorted out.
Just did a restart to test see if it would try to do an update after seeing one similar to this one done earlier today. Note that I am in Thailand and my time is now 8:00 PM (GMT +7 hours).
Installed updates is still a mess. But appears to not be a problem.

Despite the implementation of blocking of this update to AMD processors.
KB4056892 crashed AMD processor system "AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4400+ 2.30 GHz" and does not seem to be on the new block list for AMD processors as per KB4073707. Could the Moderator please pass this on to your update team as my AMD system has been trashed?

I'm running windows 8.1 with an AMD Prossesor AMD A10-575M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics on a 4 years old acer aspire V5 laptop.
My laptop did get the KB4056895 when it searched for updates during the night, but I hid it and installed the rest. I can do that since I use windows 8.1 and I'm sooo happy that I could keep this version of windows. Yes I did try win 10 but it messed up my laptop totally with its updates. Picks the wrong drivers and so on..
Today I got another KB4056892 update and it is pending a instal. The known issues states they are not sending them for systems with AMD CPU's.
How to exclude the Update:
- If possible in your Windows 10 version, set your connection as "metererd", this will stop automatic download of updates
- use the Hide/Show troubleshooter to hide the Update
- if the Update is not "waiting for restart" in Windows Update, you can restart the pc now
- if instead the Update is in the "waiting for restart" state, it is already listed in the uninstallable updates so you can uninstall it How to Uninstall a Windows Update in Windows 10 and then restart your pc
- wait some minutes and then check Windows Update to verify that the Update is now ignored
- reset your connection to not metered
Tested on Windows 10 Fall Creators Update Home and Pro.

Did it and will wait ti see if it works.
It's only a surmise but maybe your machine had already been flagged for the update prior to the withdrawal of KB4056892 for affected AMD systems. The exact timing of the withdrawal is not stated.
In my experience its not really a big problem, after three failed boots the update was auto-reverted and my machine was again usable, as before.
Then, I took two actions to suspend it. Firstly I logged in as admin, and changed the Windows Update 'Advanced Options', to pause updates for 35 days. This is only available on 'Pro' or better. I also used 'wushowhide.diagcab', to remove KB4056892 from the queued update list.
I've not tested it, but folk on 'Home', may find the second option is sufficient on its own.
It did not try to install the update this morning when I turned on my computer. It think it happens yesterday because their were other updates pending.
This the one awaiting restart.
Installed updates is a mess. Note it shows the bad update installed and restart a restart to finish installing it. That is the 6th time it tried installing. I think the one that says installed should be uninstalled since I had a uninstall pending restart.
Another one that installed yesterday.
I don't think I can uninstall the available update but can uninstall the one shown installed and the one not finished.
Not sure how to use "'wushowhide.diagcab". Tryed command promt but it failed to run. Not that famililar with doing such commands.
