Windows 10 won't go to sleep after recent fall update

I found a workaround. I have set the turn off display greater than sleep value and now the computer goes to sleep but turning of monitor at the same time.

I too had a similar issue. I'm posting because this thread is one of the top results Google gives for Windows 10 sleep problems.

The solution that worked for two computers I had that were not sleeping was as follows:

• Run an admin command prompt
• powercfg -requests
  • This command lists all processes or services currently running that are preventing the computer from sleeping. The list is helpfully broken down by categories. One of my affected computers had sleep blocked by the IncrediBuild component of Visual Studio, the other by a different TSR program.

Thanks, this helped me track it down to an audio related program. I have a noise cancelation program called Krisp, and it was keeping my Intel Audio active the whole time. Once I turned Krisp off my PC went to sleep fine. I'll be reporting this to Krisp!

i have the problem where the monitor sleeps but the computer will not on more than one windows computer after updated all of them at the same time and they were working perfect before, the powercfg -requests says none for everything so i have to hunt for a solution some more, windows should be free like the mac for all the times i waste my life fixing it, seems like it has been forever

tried the powercfg -requests on one computer, it said none but still it started working again, so now it works, tried it on the other computer that was doing the same thing and it didn't work, so i have a new problem, it don't work and it didn't have a SYSTEM NONE. like on the other computer that had SYSTEM NONE. on the power cfg readout, is that the problem it don't work, here we go again, ready to get out my cloned windows 10 i have as backup and just change to that, i know that was working when i put it away, then i will be done messing with the whole thing on the last Windows computer that don't work, it will try to update it again, i bet it will and there is no way to stop it and it will screw it up again, i am afraid of that one

How do you run an admin command prompt?  And what is  powercfg-requests
