Windows 10 won't go to sleep after recent fall update

Have checked there are no active wake timers Turned off wake via Ethernet and all drivers/BIOS seem up to date. Any suggestion as to why this is happening and is this a known bug requiring a patch? Also via powercfg no application are preventing sleep

I too had a similar issue. I'm posting because this thread is one of the top results Google gives for Windows 10 sleep problems.

The solution that worked for two computers I had that were not sleeping was as follows:

Run an admin command prompt
powercfg -requests
- This command lists all processes or services currently running that are preventing the computer from sleeping. The list is helpfully broken down by categories. One of my affected computers had sleep blocked by the IncrediBuild component of Visual Studio, the other by a different TSR program.

if computer wakes up immediately, then check mouse and keyboard properties>power management and disable them from waking the computer,

Hey Guys,

I have been research this for a decent while now. I just built around a $1700 pc and it would not go to sleep. The reason that came up to me after trying all of these posts was to start to replace parts. I swapped SSD's and nothing happened. The solution for me was to actually replace my motherboard. If you get a faulty one it can cause this to happen.

Running the Troubleshooter for Power seemed to work. It found and corrected two timing-related problems, and I was actually able to go into sleep mode with the Dell U2410 monitor connected. We'll see if the fix persists.

Ill buy your "defective"motherboard. You are spending alot of money for no reason. There a thousand things that can cause your pc to wake from sleep but your ssd and motherboard are not any of those things.
