Actually I think I may spoke too soon. I think the Qualcom driver is for built in hardware on my computer not the MS adapter. Keyboard connection still going to sleep... argh.
Windows 10 missing first keystrokes from Microsoft Designer Bluetooth Keyboard after Fall Creators' Update
After updating to the Fall Creators' Update, Windows misses the first several keystrokes from my Microsoft Designer Bluetooth Keyboard. This occurs when after rebooting, first logging in or simply after the keyboard has been idle for a bit. The problem happens not only in Windows, but in all applications, too.
I have replaced the keyboard batteries and the problem persists.
I have tried another identical keyboard and the problem persists with that keyboard, too.
I have checked for driver updates, but Device Manager indicates that I have the latest drivers.
The problem did not happen before updating to the Fall Creators' Update.

2019-04-08T20:25:10+00:00 I guess you have a different hardware. Mine are just Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator and LE Enumerator. Neither has the power management tab.
I haven't read this whole thread, but for me the issue was the bluetooth adapter (which came with my MS keyboard) was going to sleep and missing the first keystroke.
Found this easy fix online:
- Open control panel-device manager
- Look for Bluetooth settings
- Open properties for Bluetooth adapter (in my case Qualcomm QCA9377)
- Under Power Management tab, uncheck "Allow the Computer to turn off this device to save power"
Supremely annoying - I was starting to train myself to type the first key twice!

2019-03-06T23:16:15+00:00 I am running v1809 Windows 10 and no longer have the problem. Check your version and run an update if required. All info is on-line for Win 10 updates.

2019-03-06T22:36:12+00:00 I'm having this issue as well. I'm not sure which version of Windows I'm running, did you have to do anything specific to upgrade yours so that it solved the issue, or was it an automatic update?
I agree that it's a shame that a Microsoft branded keyboard doesn't work properly with Windows.
