Windows 10 missing first keystrokes from Microsoft Designer Bluetooth Keyboard after Fall Creators' Update

After updating to the Fall Creators' Update, Windows misses the first several keystrokes from my Microsoft Designer Bluetooth Keyboard. This occurs when after rebooting, first logging in or simply after the keyboard has been idle for a bit.  The problem happens not only in Windows, but in all applications, too.

I have replaced the keyboard batteries and the problem persists.

I have tried another identical keyboard and the problem persists with that keyboard, too.

I have checked for driver updates, but Device Manager indicates that I have the latest drivers.

The problem did not happen before updating to the Fall Creators' Update.

    It's very annoying having to force myself to wait 3 seconds before I start tying every time!!

    I have the same issue.  Designer Bluetooth Keyboard worked fine before the FCU, now it's missing the first keystrokes each time I move to a different input field, page, window, etc..  Mine is paired to a Dell Latitude 7480 laptop.

    Same issue for me. Surface Book with Designer Bluetooth Keyboard and Mouse.

    Worked perfectly before Fall Creators Update.

    Now Keyboard misses keypresses, repeats keys and is generally slow.

    And mouse becomes unusable as soon as the machine is doing any work with lag 10-20 seconds behind the movement.

    Fix it....and soon.

    I use a Microsoft Surface Book.  The keyboard on the Surface Book does not exhibit this problem.  I have TWO Microsoft Designer Bluetooth Keyboards - one at home and one at work.  Both keyboards (one purchased only two months ago) exhibit the same problem when used with the Surface Book.  I do not have another type of Bluetooth keyboard to test with.

    Again, this problem occurred ONLY after updating to the Windows 10 Fall Creators' update.  The problem did NOT occur before.

    While it would be optimal to test with a different brand or model of Bluetooth keyboard, given that the problem started occurring at the same time for two people on three different PCs with four of the exact same model of keyboard seems, to me, a smoking gun.

    For me, particularly frustrating since I'm exclusively using Microsoft products.

    Hi Martin,

    A compatibility issue between the new version of Windows 10 and the Bluetooth keyboard can be the reason why you're encountering the missing keystrokes issue. Like what we've mentioned in our last reply, we suggest using a different kind of keyboard. This is for us to know if the issue is with the specific keyboard or not.

    We'll be waiting for the result.
