Windows 10 missing first keystrokes from Microsoft Designer Bluetooth Keyboard after Fall Creators' Update

After updating to the Fall Creators' Update, Windows misses the first several keystrokes from my Microsoft Designer Bluetooth Keyboard. This occurs when after rebooting, first logging in or simply after the keyboard has been idle for a bit.  The problem happens not only in Windows, but in all applications, too.

I have replaced the keyboard batteries and the problem persists.

I have tried another identical keyboard and the problem persists with that keyboard, too.

I have checked for driver updates, but Device Manager indicates that I have the latest drivers.

The problem did not happen before updating to the Fall Creators' Update.

    Thanks for your answer TimLeon.

There are some twenty five different solutions listed on the link you provided. At first site none of them appear to refer to the issue at hand (Microsoft Designer Keyboard missing keystrokes). Would you specify which of them you believe will fix the problem please.

    Are you a Microsoft employee?

    Thanks

    David.

Not only that but the same useless advice was given somewhere near the beginning of this thread and was reported as such.  This is a f#@5&ing joke.

    Hello Dan,

For initial troubleshooting steps to resolve your concern on your keyboard after updating to the Windows 10 Fall Creator's update, we suggest that you try to run some Windows troubleshooter on this link.

It will help you diagnose and correct issues for Microsoft products and related problems.

Post back if you need further assistance.

That link leads to a page which gives the following message:

End of support notification for Fix it If you are redirected to this article when you click the Download button of a “Fix it” solution in a Microsoft Knowledge Base article, this means that the solution has been retired and is no longer supported. We recommend that you use one of the following diagnostics to resolve your software issues.

Exactly the same as my experiences with 2 different computers using the Microsoft Designer Keyboard.

Despite several attempts to contact MS using their "feedback hub" I have to tell you that doesn't work either - so there is no way of getting any response or action from them.

Very frustrating, particularly as I personally know two other people using the same equipment with the same problem also starting from the "fall update" fiasco.

Perhaps one day someone from MS will see this and decide to provide a meaningful answer?

Very similar experience for me with the Designer Bluetooth Keyboard.

The keyboard seems to sleep after a period of inactivity and will wake up in the time it takes to enter 2 - 4 characters. After that it is okay until another period of inactivity.

The problem started after the Windows 10 Fall Creators' update.  The problem did NOT occur before.

The drivers are up to date.

    I replaced the batteries.

I changed the "Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R) Properties" > "Power Management" setting to disable "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power", it did not make any difference.

I deleted the device and repaired, it did not make any difference.

After deleting and repairing I tried both settings for "Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R) Properties" > "Power Management" setting to disable "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power", it did not make any difference.Help!
