Windows 10 missing first keystrokes from Microsoft Designer Bluetooth Keyboard after Fall Creators' Update

After updating to the Fall Creators' Update, Windows misses the first several keystrokes from my Microsoft Designer Bluetooth Keyboard. This occurs when after rebooting, first logging in or simply after the keyboard has been idle for a bit. The problem happens not only in Windows, but in all applications, too.

I have replaced the keyboard batteries and the problem persists.

I have tried another identical keyboard and the problem persists with that keyboard, too.

I have checked for driver updates, but Device Manager indicates that I have the latest drivers.

The problem did not happen before updating to the Fall Creators' Update.

Exactly same problem. Extremely annoying when doing ctrl-c and ctrl-v. You thought you had copied something into the clipboard, but you hadn't.

Re Power Management changing these settings has been mentioned as a possible fix. There are power settings in:

    Device Manger>Bluetooth>Intel(R) Wireless Bluetooth(R)>Properties>Power Management

Device Manger>Human Interface Devices>Bluetooth Low Energy GATT compliant HID device> Properties>Power Management (There will be one entry for the keyboard and others for other devices e.g. a Bluetooth mouse)

    Device Manger>Keyboards>Designer Bluetooth Keyboard>Properties>Power Management

I have tried various combinations of the Power Management settings e.g., turning all settings of “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power” off everywhere associated with the keyboard and non of them fix the problem.

Still a very annoying pen issue.

Exactly the same problem here, Designer Keyboard missing keystrokes. This time with an HP Laptop. Worked perfectly, then Creators fall update and it all went a bit wrong. I have colleagues with the same keyboard and different laptops, they all experience exactly the same issue when updating to Creators Fall edition.

Have tried different BT drivers, BIOS resets, re-pairing etc etc etc. Not found any solution yet.

I have added an upvote to the problem previously logged in the Feedback Hub. I did find that you need to click on the link, open feedback hub, log in, then go back to the link and click again to make it come up properly.

Just got an email from Microsoft “12 tips to refresh your PC for 2018” which contained the following:

Meet the Windows 10 troubleshooters—from Internet connection to audio issues and more, they’re here to help.
---
FOLLOW THESE STEPS: GO TO START > SETTINGS > UPDATE AND SECURITY > TROUBLESHOOT

    So I tried it.

Net result was that the troubleshooter reported that it could not complete the Bluetooth radio checkout and left the Bluetooth radio off. This meant that my mouse and keyboard stopped working. No problem I thought, use the laptop touchpad and keyboard, but they did not work either. The computer was hung up. Pressed the power button and of course windows wanted me to either shut down the apps or select reboot anyway – with the now non-working keyboards, mouse and touchpad. I had to hold down the power button to force a reboot. After the reboot the Bluetooth radio was still off so I had to manual turn it on using the laptop touchpad to get my Bluetooth devices to work again.

    So much for that!

Agreed! None of the "Fixes" even reference a keyboard. Specifically this thread is devoted to the designer Keyboard missing keystrokes and even more specifically to missing keystrokes after the keyboard has been idle and on a restart or start.
