How permanently stop windows 10 force updates

I'm using an ACER aspire ES 14 laptop and it's been with me for over a year now with no problems whatsoever. Not until the start of 2018 where out of nowhere, windows 10 wants me to install their updates. Now for how long have I been ignoring those latest updates and seen some of the peoples complaints in recent forums that the newest updates destroys their PC/laptops instead of making it better, I'm kinda scared and also don't have the time to get all of the updates in my laptop. First, it was the windows assistant that was bugging me, where it would just show up and stops me for doing anything else. I tried the following method of going to "Services" and disabling both "Background Intelligence Transfer" and "Windows Update" and restarted my laptop, but of course those didn't work since it will automatically enables themselves again while also installing windows 10 assistant back. So I tried another method I found here that needs me to go to Task Scheduler and do some tweaking here and there,  and what do you know, it worked! At least for 3 weeks... Then a few days ago, I found windows 10 assistant installs itself again, so I had to do the same steps I did before and it worked so far, then the next day where I was expecting it to install itself again. Something new happened, instead of windows 10 assistant, I just received a notification in my Action Center that "We're getting your PC up to date" and I know for sure that it's still a windows update and this is the part that's making me nuts and stressed out since I have no idea how to stop this, I'm all out of options even from searching this on the web. So I really need help from this.

Well if you're going to go to that trouble, just install the newest one, instead of one bits years out of date. If you download the USB Creator tool from their website, you will be on version 1709, or if you wait a few weeks you'll even be on 1803.

    Hi Shawn

Thanks for that, its just a nightmare at the moment that nobody seems to be able to fix.

I think if you had a standard windows version 1703 no software added the windows 10 1709

    would work.

But nobody has, we all running different applications.

All the upgrades i have used so far worked.

The only solution seems to be is erase everything and install a fresh windows10.

    Thanks anyway

    Adrian

1703 means March of the Year 2017. You are putting yourself at serious risk, just do yourself a favor and do a Google search of how many security vulnerabilities have been discovered in the past year. And no, the metered connection will not always work for you, eventually the update will be forced to install as usual.

I just wanted to say I have gone to Microsoft Help Center.

I have given access to my pc.

4 different IT guys have not resolved the problem even giving them access.

My version is 1703 os 15063.483.

They say this can be upgraded.

My pc works fine its that dam upgrade box that pops up every day.

Why are they ruining our lives.

Ive wasted 2 days on this. Its there upgrade thats fautly not our pcs.
