I had a heck of a time finding a Windows Alexa site for the app setup. No matter what I clicked on, I was sent to an Android download website.

    https://alexa.amazon.ca/spa/index.html#welcome

I've had my Echo Dot since Christmas......so far it's just a useless black paperweight.  I see an Amazon-UGW wireless network under "Manage Wireless Networks" but under (Internet Access) "Wireless Network Connections" Amazon Echo is not listed.

The page that explained the setup kept telling me to go to "places", or press on buttons, that I couldn't find.

    It shouldn't be this hard.

You moderators don't understand the question.  Your answer is for how to set up Alexa on a smart phone or tablet (apple or android).  The question is how to set it up on a Windows 7 PC.  The true answer is you can't.  It's funny that Microsoft has Alexa apps for IOS and Android but not for Windows, it's own product.

"You moderators don't understand the question. Your answer is for how to set up Alexa on a smartphone or tablet (apple or android)."

Except for the fact that the first response told you that you had to use a mobile device, or a web browser (limited) to set her up. The only way you could set her up on your PC would be *gasp* a web browser.

"The question is how to set it up on a Windows 7 PC. The true answer is you can't."

As stated above, that is pure BS. You set it up via a web browser if you don't want to do it via mobile.

"It's funny that Microsoft has Alexa apps for IOS and Android but not for Windows, it's own product."

This clearly shows you tech illiterate because anyone under the age of 35 would know that Alexa is created by Amazon, Inc. Microsoft's personal assistant is named "Cortana" which is on iOS, Android and Windows.

So please, before being ignorant to the responses given, read what is posted, and don't assume anything, because the Alexa owned by Microsoft part just made you look ridiculous.

Whats the point in being a jerk to get your point across? Guess the little quote at the bottom of your post is just for kicks. If you really want to empower people try actually helping instead of tripping them up with word play and domination.

"Be somebody, that helps everybody, feel like a somebody."

If you are setting up Alexa on a Windows 7 PC you are NOT using an Echo Device. You are setting it up (or trying to) On a PC !

There is an Alexa App in the Windows 10 App Store, you can do a search and download it there.
