I want to reinstall my windows 10 64 bit into a new SSD I bought.

I am trying to create a USB flash drive using windows media creation tool but I am getting this error every time. I have tried it on 4 laptops and 1 desktop, and with 3 different pendrives.

Eventually, after 8 tries and many reboots I did receive MS's Eula and was able to proceed...until I hit 51% and it threw up yet another error.  I switched to making an ISO, which worked, instead of a USB (mine was 32gb so it's not a size issue), and used rufus usb creator to make the bootable USB.

What a pain in the ****.

I was able to get past the error by connecting to a VPN (IPVanish, Sydney server). Once the ISO started downloading I disconnected from the VPN as it was faster to download without it.

I don't know why this worked for me (and we definitely still need a fix), but hopefully this helps someone.

I agree we need a fix, especially for those that dont read the forum and/or are less technical to find work arounds (eg my mom).

Im guessing that this may be a USA issue and downloading the ISO from outside the USA may have been the answer with your VPN but I dont know why. (see below where guessing gets you....)
