Hi Divyank,

The error code 0x80072F76-0x20017 means that the tool doesn't have permission for it to run. For us to assist you, we suggest that you follow the simple steps listed below:

I got it going by adding the app to the windows firewall exceptions list.  You would think that the tool being from Microsoft would know to do that, but nope.

    In short:

Try to find your old Media Creation Tool if you have it stored somewhere and successfully used it before, it MAY work for you.

    Complete story:

Old desktop decided to quit and I now have a new desktop, bought seperated parts through Amazon, sharing no components excluding the SSD. Finished the build 2 days ago, installed  Win10 Pro that was freshly downloaded ~3 days ago, and system started to function weird today. I decided to reinstall the Win10 and hope it would wipe out some of the problems, some of them being Cortana is gone, alt + tab dont work, Steam game mostly was not put in the very front, leaving the taskbar under it and clickable, Win10 doesnt want to download updating patches, etc. I Went into MS cite to download the MCT, it popped up this error code. Then tried it with my laptop, same error code.

I recall that I had an old copy of MCT which I stored it in my portable HDD. I found it out, and it has the creating time back on 2016.July.31, excuted it, and it is working. I am now waiting for it to do its job. As I have done writting this reply, it finished. I will be trying to reinstall Win10 and leave comment below.

    Forgot to do the reply.

That MCT created a ISO that was the very first version of Win10, and it took some serious time to do the update to the newest version. But then the OS runs all fine.
