Hello,

I want to reinstall my windows 10 64 bit into a new SSD I bought.

I am trying to create a USB flash drive using windows media creation tool but I am getting this error every time. I have tried it on 4 laptops and 1 desktop, and with 3 different pendrives.

    The below worked for me.

Provide full control to the user/admin in the Security Tab of properties.

For those having this issue when below doesn't work (as it didn't for me) right click on it and click troubleshot comparability. Then click try recommended settings. This should run it in compatibility mode for windows 8 which seems to work.

    1. Right-click on the Media Creation Tool.exe.
    2. Press Properties.
    3. Click on General.
    4. At the bottom, click on Unblock.
    5. Press Apply, and then OK.

    this legit worked for me

    Thanks a lot!

Set the DNS to Automatic, flushed the DNS with 'ipconfig/flushdns', and switched to phone's hotspot till I got past the EULA screen. Then back to LAN.

    Thanks again!
