In addition to reporting the fake pop-ups themselves I would advise that you take note if there is a significant loss of performance on computer after encountering, in particular, the fake Adobe Flash Player update. If things seem sluggish you may have been subject to one of the more prevalent malicious activities known as crypto-mining/coin mining.

Especially important to report these occurrences or any other odd behaviors after using MSN website.

Moderator Edit: Provided update.

Just reading the “Comey trolls Trump” article on the Edge Start page and this pops up:

This one was easy to handle because it was just the old-fashioned dialog loop based scam:

– but what’s coming next Microsoft?

    Thanks for your help Greg!

I finally said screw it and called 1-800-Microsoft and let them take care of the stuff going on.  As time passes it gets more and more above my abilities.  I can't even understand the instructions MS gives me online!!!  As I said previously; I could probably have an easier time building an F-18.  GOOD LUCK on your end and thanks again.  RICKCOE

Today I tried to click on the link to take me to the MLB section of the MSN sports section and got a malvertising warning regarding a slowdown on my computer due to infection. Obviously, this is still an issue. I forgot to get a screenshot of the message but the link was

Paul, would you please send some feedback so I can track what ad got served to you that led you there? The feedback button is on any MSN page on the lower right corner of the page. You can write "got malvertising, scam ad - please follow up".

    Thank you!
