In addition to reporting the fake pop-ups themselves I would advise that you take note if there is a significant loss of performance on computer after encountering, in particular, the fake Adobe Flash Player update. If things seem sluggish you may have been subject to one of the more prevalent malicious activities known as crypto-mining/coin mining.

    Hi, Rodrigo. I just wanted to give you an update. Since I learned the problem on the MSN sites apparently comes from malicious coding in ads, I installed Adblock Plus on my Edge browser, and that seems to have solved the problem of redirection to malicious sites. I realize that doesn't help you pinpoint the offending ads, but it is a solution that might help others from getting their computers infected. Thanks for your attention to this matter and the tip that malicious coding in ads might be the cause.

    Yeah, that just helps prove it's coming from an ad. I'm trying hard to get the offending ad banned and the publisher to review their policies on why it circumvented their quality control. We've been having a tough time since the ads seem to change behavior depending on the customer due to targeting.

    I have gotten these too, and Chrome keeps freezing, esp. on Home Depot and Wayfair,  Most recently I was on Hometalk and received a warning and notice to call.
