Spatial sound is not available on this device

Hello,

The Spatial Sound feature in Windows 10 is disabled by default. To enable it, follow these steps:

1. In the notification area, right-click on the sound icon.
2. In the context menu, click on Playback devices.
3. Select your playback device and then click on Properties.
4. Click on the Spatial sound tab.
5. Select the Spatial sound format you want to apply.

I think it's pretty obvious that he wasn't looking for that answer. He clearly explained that he's not able to turn on the spatial sound and not that he's unable to find a way to turn the spatial sound on. I've got the same problem and I too am looking for answers. Thank you for being nice enough to come up with an answer but please read the questions carefully before answerig them.

Hi everyone,

I have Dolby Audio as a sound enhancement on my device. Spatial sound became available when I switched off the Dolby Audio function. The 2 features apparently can't be functioning at the same time, for my device at least.

@AbdulMohi1 perhaps you can try what i just did, disable any other sound enhancement feature you may have and then see if the spatial sound becomes available for you.

I had a similar issue. In my case, it was with the Realtek Audio Driver getting installed as the default driver for the speakers. This would remove headphones from the device list, speakers became the only option for sound output and spatial sound settings got muted. I got this issue resolved by doing a rollback to Microsoft driver. More info is available here. Hope this helps.

Ha the same problem before...

Try turning off mono audio in ease of access audio settings. as soon as i did this it fixed my problem of not being able to select a spacial sound format. Allowed me to use Dolby atmos or windows sonic.

From your desktop, tap or click on the Start icon at the left-bottom corner, and open the Settings app from the Start menu.

* Navigate to the Privacy category, and select the Micro Phone tab in the left pane.

* Go to its right side pane, locate the “Let Apps Use My Micro Phone” option, and toggle its switch from On to Off.

* Then select the Other Devices tab in the left side, and also disable the Let Apps Use My Micro Phone function.

* Return to the main screen of Settings app, go to Easy To Access > Other Options, and turn the “Mono Audio” off completely. Now play video or music to check if it works in Windows 10.
