Windows 10 Stuck on “Restoring your previous version of Windows” loop

Thia doesn’t help me, it’s stuck on the loop dueing startup, so i can’t access Settings

I just discovered how to access the system utilities and got through that stuck loop. Somewhere in all these comments someone sugested to wait for manufacturers logo to disappear and then do a force stop 3 times which didn't work because the 3 to 5 second lag time to shut down was too long and the restore would kick in before shutting off. 

Then it was sugested to take out the battery and unplug the power right after the manufacture logo came off. This is a good way to shut down immediately but it still didn't kick in the diagnostic utility, it went right back to restore loop.

Well guess what, you don't need to wait for manufacturers logo to go away. As soon as you hit the power button, start tapping the F2 key repeatedly until the system utility window appears. I havent explored all the options yet but there is a restore default button and there is an option no1 boot override setting. I haven't tried yet.

Based on your post, there is a possibility that the upgrade has failed and caused Windows to restore your PC back to its previous version. However, 

I have the exact same problem. I think restore has been corrupted following countless failed attempts to auto upgrade windows 10 to a non comparable platform. And there was nothing I could do to stop the insatiable windows 10 assistant from trying to install an upgrade exec. that i think shouldn'l not have been on certain platforms. I shredded those windows 10 upgrade files everytime they appeared. Then the upgrade 10 exec. Files appeared in multiple drives. Ridiculous and now my laptop is off and my work is on hold. Great.

I have the same problem today..I just thought that after the countless failures on update windows 10 and restores, that my previous version got corrupted

Cannot get out of the loop. 

Just close the computer  ?

There's currently 1,014 users indicating "I have the same question", yet, why is there no reply since 19July2018? 

I have tried all of the aforementioned, and I too have precious photos and files currently unobtainable.

As my DVD-R is not accessible, due to being unable to load/reach Windows on my Toshiba Satellite laptop, I tried the installation media via USB. Unsuccessful. Due to restricted I.T. priveleges on my work laptop, I had to download it on my phone, transfer it from micro SD to USB, before attempting boot on the Toshiba.. 

I am currently asking people I know "do you have a DVD-R?" so I can try installation media via the DVD drive.. 

What a nightmare! 

A resolution would be welcome, or, at minimum, an offering of free installation media [DVD] for those encountering the same dilemma as above
