Can confirm, shutting down and turning it on and pressing F8 like a mad man worked the first time for me for some reason. Windows 10 makes no sense.

I don't wish to be rude, but you are singularly failing to address the issue here.  Basically, these people, like me have got their computer stuck in a loop.  The machine keeps starting, trying to restore, failing and restarting and trying to restore and restarting and ... (well, you get the picture).

There is no process or procedure that can be operated because .. well ... the machine won't start because it's stuck in the loop.

Please try to offer a practical solution to a problem that your company has created.

I suggest that the first step to resolution is to actually read the questions and address the issue  - which is 'we can't get our machines to start because they're stuck in this damned loop'.  Tell us how to get out of the loop first.

    Please!

    Hi,

    I have this issue also.

Very simply put my problem is:

    1.  Turn on laptop
    2. ASUS logo, dots circle
    3. Flicker of black screen
    4. Message “attempting to recover installation” very
    5. Message “restoring your previous version of windows”
    6. Power down
    7. Power up
    8. Goto 2.

This reads very like others’ problem. No use asking me to go into settings.  I cant get anywhere near a windows desktop.

    incredibly frustrating experience....

Now after getting to step 6 of the troubleshooting process I am getting an error message:

We could not install Windows 10

    OXC1900101-OX30018

The installation failed in the FIRST_BOOT phase with an error during SYSPREP operation.
