Windows 10 Stuck on “Restoring your previous version of Windows” loop

I am using a bootcamp partition on Mac. I usually use parallels desktop to access it. It was forced into an update by auto update despite the partition not having enough space for it. Upon installing bootcamp, it says you cannot adjust its disk space after creating it. It is stuck in the loop with no sign in page or anything.

It is very important that I get my partition back because I have just spent around 8 hours on a school project and it is about to be lost if I can't get it working again. It wasn't even finished yet.

How can I recover it with Bootcamp on a mac?

Hi James,

I understand your problem.

The best thing to do is to simply wait. Even if it takes a few hours, I recommend doing this before you do anything else. Hope this helps.

I feel your pain. I had the same problem. The only thing I have been able to do is tap repeatedly in the F2 key as soon as I turn on the power button. This takes me to the utilities window. So I know there is a way to bypass the boot sequence which became corrupted but I have nit gone further from this point. I know and now believe that I will need to uninstall AVG antivirus which I have been using for sometime.. windows defender does not like third party software. 

I'm sorry I can't guide you through the utilities menu because I havent done so myself yet. I want to have a plan to restore in place before I bypass the current boot set up, which is stuck and corrupted. Any knowledgable geek can navigate the utilities and hopefully help bypass current currupt settings. So i think there is hope.

I sympathize with you. I went through a few nightmarish updates until my system got stuck on a reboot loop. They only thing I have been able to do is tap the F2 button repidetly at start until my utility window opens. I know I can override my current boot setting just want to be sure I have a plan I place so I don't crash.. I already have a corrupt receiver previous windows version.  Very frustrating.. been without a laptop a couple days now. But I can email and do basic on phone. Like writing here.

So i have the exact same case and im just going to describe it simply . First i just bought a new laptop with default windows 10 build after two / three days it suddenly auto updated and stuck at 15% while INSTALLING not DOWNLOADING for about 3 hours ( i have a stable internet connection and laptop is plugged in ?. So after frustated i started to look onlinr and do a bit risky but somehow worked decision which is to force restart my laptop using power button , then i eventually met the restoring the previous session loop since this is the first time it happened i decided to wait first since there is a change it will worked out itself which thankfully it did . So i may making assumptions here but better than no solution at all since my update is Stuck AT 15% i waited at the previous session screen for about an hour and it rebooted and all my files are still there so if your updatr stuck at around 10-25% i think its possible to restart at wait it out ( but i don't reccomend this ) well i think thats all from me if my method didn't work im very sorry you could also try other things listed here but try to wait it out first especially if it's your first time update in a new laptop good luck to all of you who still have the problem and sorry for my bad english
