I've researched, cleared caches, and downloaded other PDF readers from the store to no luck ...
Since fixing a MAPS error with a Hard Reset, I've found that I can't open PDFs on my phone anymore. With Windows 10 on my Lumia 650 phone, the default/only way to see PDFs were (add still are) through EDGE.
When I click the file, whether it's on- or off-line, it would appear to proceed and open how it use to but end up saying:
Here is the converted link from an offline PDF file that accompanies the Message above (..the same prefix appears with online PDF files):

When I email this and other PDFs to myself or click on PDFs online and open them on my PC, I'm able to see the file through EDGE without problems/error/issue.

Hello Jaq. first thank you for acknowledging the problem so we can stop wasting time fixing it when is a problem with the latest OS update. I have followed your suggestion of using a third party pdf reader, the problem is that having a pdf reader app does not change the default app (which is Edge) and therefore I can't open the file with the newly installed Pdf Reader. In the past I have received the option to choose an the app from a list when two or more compatible apps are found, but in this case simple does not change the default program and does not give the option to use another app. It is a dead end. Any suggestions?
If you can save the pdf files you will be able to choose which app to open them with. If you can't, then you need to wait for the next update from MS to fix what they broke. Don't ask, I have no idea when that will happen.
I'm no tech head, but I've been reading the comments from others with the same problem. My pdf files won't open and I started getting the same error message on my HP x3 February 20th. The Apps store on my phone won't let me download another pdf reader, so I downloaded Windows mobile Adobe Reader from the Internet, but it wont' open the files either. The message is right in that I "have better things to do", but "come back later" scares me. Anyone have an ETA for the fix?

Thank you for letting us know. You may encounter issues when trying to access PDF files on Microsoft Edge after the latest update on Windows 10 Mobile. We are aware of the issue and our developers are working to resolved it. Rest assured that there will be an update in an upcoming release. In the meantime, we suggest that you download and install any available PDF reader apps from the Store. Make sure that you download or save the PDF file to your phone so you can open it on the PDF reader app.

Most of the pdf files I get through email are hyperlinks, and there's no option to save them or the link so I can't just download the file and open in another app, it's Edge or nothing (which doesn't work!). Also I have apps which link to pdf files with no option to save then, how do I workaround these? I need to be able to view pdfs for my work!
