PDF files will no longer open on Windows Phone - Can't Open on EDGE

I've researched, cleared caches, and downloaded other PDF readers from the store to no luck ...

Since fixing a MAPS error with a Hard Reset, I've found that I can't open PDFs on my phone anymore. With Windows 10 on my Lumia 650 phone, the default/only way to see PDFs were (add still are) through EDGE.

When I click the file, whether it's on- or off-line, it would appear to proceed and open how it use to but end up saying:

Here is the converted link from an offline PDF file that accompanies the Message above (..the same prefix appears with online PDF files):

ms-appx-web:///assets/errorpages/ErrorPages.html?error=100000#file:///C:/Data/USERS/Public/Documents/EM_2018_schedule.pdf

When I email this and other PDFs to myself or click on PDFs online and open them on my PC, I'm able to see the file through EDGE without problems/error/issue.

Moved from: Microsoft Edge/ PDF, EPUB, and reading/ Windows 10

Ok, so this is the last nail in the coffin for me. Even typing this message is a pain in edge, as deleting a single character takes ages. Im aware, that this platform had better days but releasing this kind of untested disaster is unacceptable. The most simple regression test set should at least contain stuff like opening most common file types and writing and editing text if you release a browser version to the public. This shows how much MS cares about the wp10 platform.

As it does not provide the most fundamental features i need for work and everyday lifeandi cant even trust in the still working features, im abandoning the platform.

just to add some useful comment as well, an app called pdf viewer plus lets you browse your pdf and open it.

WinOpener is the only App that I have found in MS store that will open PDF files saved onto my Lumia 950.

it does not however open PDF files made available online when using Edge.

Still waiting. When will you fix this issue? Work is really cumbersome with such a crucial error- workaround. You fixed the calendar issue and created an email sender issue. Never an update that has been tested properly!!!

    Hello Jaq,

Thank you for letting us know. You may encounter issues when trying to access PDF files on Microsoft Edge after the latest update on Windows 10 Mobile. We are aware of the issue and our developers are working to resolved it. Rest assured that there will be an update in an upcoming release. In the meantime, we suggest that you download and install any available PDF reader apps from the Store. Make sure that you download or save the PDF file to your phone so you can open it on the PDF reader app.

Let us know if you have any questions.

This bug impacts on the fundamental functionsality of thousands upon thousands of Winfows Phone products, yet Microsoft are not addressing this with the urgency required.

I will now be referring this matter to relevant consumer protection agencies in Australia, and will pursue a full refund through the relevant consumer tribunal. I encourage others to do the same.
