My new Laptop is a Lenovo T470s (S/N PC0PXLX1) with a "Sierra Wireless EM7455 Qualcomm Snapdragon X7 LTE-A" WWAN card.
After working well for 6 weeks, I am now unable to get an internet connection using that adapter.
Windows 10 network diagnostics tells me I need to "Enter a SIM PIN2 to unlock the mobile broadband device". I can find no way to enter anything.
Tech support at both AT&T and Lenovo have never heard of SIM PIN2 and each blames the other for the problem. I have talked to each several times and have been referred to "advanced tech support."
My internet provider is AT&T.
This community has referred to a "provider specific software" that solved one participant's similar problem.
My provider, AT&T, has given me two PUK numbers. I suspect their PUK2 may be the SIM PIN2, but I still have no way to utilize that information.

2019-07-29T04:54:17+00:00 Sorry thanks for trying. I have tried numerous times. it only gives me option for AT&T. Won't acknowledge any other network. In Canada we don't have AT&T, Besides I bought this Surface through school. It should not require me to have an active cellular service.
Basically I have a $400. 00 device I cannot use due to not having this sim2 card. GRRRR.
I have paid twice to fix this problem and refuse to pay anymore to get this resolved It is Microsoft who needs to fix this stop passing the buck
I am tethering it with my cell phone using up all my data

2019-06-06T20:41:32+00:00 What finally worked for me was installing the manufacturer's WAN card software. What this actually did was update the firmware on the WAN card. Once this firmware was updated, everything worked like a charm.

You will have to select your carrier and either Windows or Linux and you may have to create an account to drill down but its free.
Hi thanks for the link, I tried it and how do I know if it works or not? I just did this not even 5 minutes ago if not I'll try again. Thank you again I'll keep my fingers crossed.
