SIM PIN2 to unlock mobile broadband device

My new Laptop is a Lenovo T470s (S/N PC0PXLX1) with a "Sierra Wireless EM7455 Qualcomm Snapdragon X7 LTE-A" WWAN card.

After working well for 6 weeks, I am now unable to get an internet connection using that adapter.

Windows 10 network diagnostics tells me I need to "Enter a SIM PIN2 to unlock the mobile broadband device". I can find no way to enter anything.

Tech support at both AT&T and Lenovo have never heard of SIM PIN2 and each blames the other for the problem. I have talked to each several times and have been referred to "advanced tech support."

My internet provider is AT&T.

This community has referred to a "provider specific software" that solved one participant's similar problem.

My provider, AT&T, has given me two PUK numbers. I suspect their PUK2 may be the SIM PIN2, but I still have no way to utilize that information.

HELP!

What this actually did was update the firmware on the WAN card.  Once this firmware was updated, everything worked like a charm.

What finally worked for me was installing the manufacturer's WAN card  software.  What this actually did was update the firmware on the WAN card.  Once this firmware was updated, everything worked like a charm. Here's the link:

You will have to select your carrier and either Windows or Linux and you may have to create an account to drill down but its free.  My frustration is that Lenovo support should have figured this out and not me especially since this has been an ongoing problem with many others.

I'm having the same issue with my Lenovo Think Pad with Windows 10. I think this has something to do with Windows OS.

The firmware to update would not be from Toshiba but from SierraWireless.  One of the earlier posts will give you more detail on the SierraWireless firmware update.

    Hello Sergio,

There's a difference between updating the driver and updating the firmware.  Did you update the driver or the firmware?  Updating the right one could be the difference between it not working and working.

I uninstalled the complete Sierra software and also the driver, even using the Revo uninstaller. I downloaded the complete last software from the Toshiba website (lte-4g-20180125102911), then I guess I updated the firmware of the LTE device. But the file that gave me problems, "CallHistoryLogData.txt", remained unchanged in a subdirectory of "Users".
