SIM PIN2 to unlock mobile broadband device

My new Laptop is a Lenovo T470s (S/N PC0PXLX1) with a "Sierra Wireless EM7455 Qualcomm Snapdragon X7 LTE-A" WWAN card. 

After working well for 6 weeks, I am now unable to get an internet connection using that adapter.

Windows 10 network diagnostics tells me I need to "Enter a SIM PIN2 to unlock the mobile broadband device". I can find no way to enter anything.

Tech support at both AT&T and Lenovo have never heard of SIM PIN2 and each blames the other for the problem. I have talked to each several times and have been referred to "advanced tech support." 

My internet provider is AT&T.

This community has referred to a "provider specific software" that solved one participant's similar problem.

My provider, AT&T, has given me two PUK numbers. I suspect their PUK2 may be the SIM PIN2, but I still have no way to utilize that information.

I had the same problem on my Lenovo. It was working OK and then for no reason it would not connect to internet and told me I needed to enter the SIM PIN2.

After some time I discovered there were fixed IP addresses and subnet codes in the IP4 and IP6 settings.

Network Connections >> right click on the Mobile adaptor >> Properties >> double click on the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) >> set to Obtain an IP address automatically.

Leave the DNS server addresses as they are if they are in there.

Do the same for (TCP/IPv6)

Some Windows 10 PCs have a SIM card in them that lets you connect to a cellular data network, so you can get online using a cellular signal. I have the same error message but on my surface pro. I am unable to connect to the internet. Please advise

I've had this problem for months and been recommended to contact my LTE provider, hardware's been inspected several times, drivers / firmware update and BIOS flashed, and time after time this issue keeps creeping. Although working in IT for more than a decade I literally didn't think of a solution as easy as this. It must be smth related to corporate computers and their IP/DNS settings. Mine is also a T470s with a "Sierra Wireless EM7455 Qualcomm Snapdragon X7 LTE-A" WWAN card & I had this issue couple of times each month, which normally resolved with full shut down, but occasionally not. Today it also didn't resolve with shut down, so I went googling yet again and came across your reply from a week ago. 

Really hope this issue is finally put to bed, but it did connect immediately after changing the settings and no more PIN2 locked for me :)

Dear All,

Having the same issue as indicated above.

Initially was not even able to identify the network with the cellular network indicating "No Service" state and no Connect button available. When running "Diagnose" I got the same error as above.

After updating drivers, status changed to "No Service" and now showing connect button. However, when trying to connect, it fails after about a minute and displays message - "Can't connect to this network. Contact your mobile network provider for assistance". Network diagnostic continues to display PIN2 error as before.

Any suggestions?
