My computer wouldn't start and entered into an Automatic Repair. The automatic repair "couldnt repair [my]PC".

It specifies the following Log file: E:\Recovery\WindowsRE\Winre.wim\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt

*Modified title for accuracy*

*Original title: Automatic Repair Error SrtTrail.txt*

Hi Steven,

This error occurs due to a possible corrupted startup file. For us to troubleshoot this issue, we suggest that you follow these steps:

  1. Restart your computer for 3 times to see Windows 10 Boot Options menu.
  2. Choose Troubleshoot.

3. Click on Advanced Options.

4. Select Command Prompt. 5. When Command Prompt appears, enter the following command lines and press Enterafter each: - bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd - bootrec.exe /fixmbr - bootrec.exe /fixboot 6. Restart your computer and check if the issue is resolved.

Let us know how it goes.

I have this issue on a work PC.

The PC has veracrypt. This might not be on your computer per say but the issue is that there are 2 boot loaders and the BIOS keeps defaulting to the wrong boot loader.

Check your bios settings to insure you are booting properly.

    Good Luck.

I got the same response to the auto repair except Log file:D. I downloaded the corrupted Windows 10 update last night. I have tried several commands but nothing has worked. The question is: What is microsoft/windows going to do to repair everyone’s PC, laptop, Ipad, etc.?
