Automatic repair couldn’t repair your PC

My computer wouldn't start and entered into an Automatic Repair. The automatic repair "couldnt repair [my]PC". 

It specifies the following Log file: E:\Recovery\WindowsRE\Winre.wim\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt

Hi Steven,

This error occurs due to a possible corrupted startup file. For us to troubleshoot this issue, we suggest that you follow these steps:

  1. Restart your computer for 3 times to see Windows 10 Boot Options menu.
  2. Choose Troubleshoot.

3. Click on Advanced Options.

4. Select Command Prompt. 5. When Command Prompt appears, enter the following command lines and press Enterafter each: - bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd - bootrec.exe /fixmbr - bootrec.exe /fixboot 6. Restart your computer and check if the issue is resolved.

    before reinstall or format of OS partition. I usually take image of Windows OS partition in the form of install.wim and then I saved that image install.wim into usb 64gbpendrive.

    That install.wim contains all dates and it can be extracted by 7 zip Software 

    Would you be so kind to provide some more guidance on this? Maybe a link where to learn how to do that? Thanks

    Hi all don't know if this helps. I built a computer about 6 months ago. It is for a special purpose and has not been used until yesterday. After starting up the system windows performed an update and I was presented with the same issue as everyone else. The automatic repair procedures are useless they always have been. I tried all of the suggestions above but got nowhere.

    I reinstalled windows 10, which is a major time consumer, and everything went well. Before I re-installed all of the other software I need for this machine I performed an update. I had the same bad result after doing the update.

    I started looking at the difference between this machine and the many others that I have built and work flawlessly. The only difference is the MB It is a micro style and the M2 drive. I usually spring for a quality Samsung M2 drive but tried to save money and went with a BPX brand. First I tried updating the firmware for the MB. The notes for the new FW did not indicate any solution to the problems I am having. I updated anyhow, but still the same ridiculous and useless automatic repair screen.

    I decided to change the M2 drive to see if that is the cause. I did not have another M2 handy but did have an Intel SSD. I changed out the drive, reinstalled windows 10, updated and success. So far for 3 days the system has been running without any issues.

    While I did not re-try the BPX M2 to verify my results (didn't have another couple of hours free) I am sure that was the issue for me. I guess there is truth in 'you get what you pay for'.
