Automatic repair couldn’t repair your PC

My computer wouldn't start and entered into an Automatic Repair. The automatic repair "couldnt repair [my]PC". 

It specifies the following Log file: E:\Recovery\WindowsRE\Winre.wim\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt

Hi Steven,

This error occurs due to a possible corrupted startup file. For us to troubleshoot this issue, we suggest that you follow these steps:

  1. Restart your computer for 3 times to see Windows 10 Boot Options menu.
  2. Choose Troubleshoot.

3. Click on Advanced Options.

4. Select Command Prompt. 5. When Command Prompt appears, enter the following command lines and press Enterafter each: - bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd - bootrec.exe /fixmbr - bootrec.exe /fixboot 6. Restart your computer and check if the issue is resolved.

    I typed in bootrec.exe/rebuildbcd and returned successfully scanned Windows installations.

    Total identified windows installations:1

    [1] d:\windows.old\Windows 

    Add installation to boot list? Yes(y)/no(n)/all(a):

    What should I answer?

    Hi Baldwin,

    Have you tried the troubleshooting steps provided by Janeane Cru? If the startup repair or fixing MBR does not resolve the issue, then might as well consider resetting your PC as Nick Dich suggested. Refer to this article for resetting your Windows PC.
