Automatic repair couldn’t repair your PC

My computer wouldn't start and entered into an Automatic Repair. The automatic repair "couldnt repair [my]PC". 

It specifies the following Log file: E:\Recovery\WindowsRE\Winre.wim\System32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt

Hi Steven,

This error occurs due to a possible corrupted startup file. For us to troubleshoot this issue, we suggest that you follow these steps:

  1. Restart your computer for 3 times to see Windows 10 Boot Options menu.
  2. Choose Troubleshoot.

3. Click on Advanced Options.

4. Select Command Prompt. 5. When Command Prompt appears, enter the following command lines and press Enterafter each: - bootrec.exe /rebuildbcd - bootrec.exe /fixmbr - bootrec.exe /fixboot 6. Restart your computer and check if the issue is resolved.

    I had this same issue and I FINALLY found a step that got me a bit further. 

    Okay so I basically had the same problem, I tried to do a system retore, reset pc, as well as image boot but all were telling me it failed.

    I found these commands which have so far been the only help to advance any, I will update when confirmed to work.

    go to troubleshooting advanced option, then to commands and enter the following codes:

    net start vss 

    hit enter button

    rstrui.exe/offline:C:\windows=active

    hit enter button

    now this will automatically pull up the systen restore option so you will be able to successfully restore your system to the last known good configuration.

    I have been stuck with this problem and just spent around 10 hours of researching. This is older code intended for Windows 7 but so far it's the only progress I have seen. 

    I hope it works for me as well as you guys. 

    Worth the try instead of completely having to reinstall to default/factory.

    Restore was unsuccessful -.-

    Now going to attempt another approach will update if it has any more progress.
