Ms solitaire collection error code 121003

After the Microsoft update of 1803 in May, the Microsoft Solitaire Collection became more impossible than ever.  It seems we are getting the Error Code 121003.  I've followed the minimal instruction to reset, reinstall, restart, sign in and out of XBox to no avail.  I'm signed into XBox and can play other Microsoft games.  The Microsoft Solitaire Collection is my favorite set of games but it isn't worth the frustration to play it.  I've played long enough since the update to know that the app has changed again.  The choice of solvable and random games is gone.  I have managed to play daily challenges but not the events.  

There are problems with the update and, of course, no tech support from Microsoft or XBox.  

I'm using a HP PC.  I'm not on wifi.  I wasn't having issue until after May 3 when my PC updated to 1803.  

I'm sure that's just a "coincidence"...NOT.  

If anyone comes up with a solution, I would love to hear it.  Good Luck to all.

I agree that this appears to be due to the latest update of Windows 10- I've had the same experience- since my PC was updated I get this 121003 error code for only Solitaire- other xbox accounts games work fine. And sometimes on Solitaire it works OK. First time it appeared to not sync so all history was loss- but since then it did syn and all history was current. Not sure if I should roll back the update for just this game or hope that a fix is made available since it's two MS products messing with each other. The other thing I noticed with this Windows 10 update is it changed my background on the desktop- thought that was strange. Anyone have any ideas?

Affects only solitaire played on a tablet. Works fine on desktop computer, and mahjong works on both. Both are running Windows 10.

Solitaire is able to "sign in" but stalls with error 121003 message during "syncing data"

Only changes made are windows update on both machines.

Troubleshooting steps: Can sometimes get solitaire to work on the laptop by starting it from Microsoft store, from xbox live, and starting Mahjong first. Neither solution is a predictable workaround. 

Signing in and out of xbox does not help.

Solitaire collection app also got changed at that time. For instance, if you have to clear 2 boards in TriPeaks or Pyramid, it now deals a third board before saying 'Collect Reward'.

I don't know how to undo Solitaire update or Windows 1803 update.
